Five Element Acupuncture Training Course

Briefly and speaking in general terms the H.A.C course has a core of 5 element acupuncture theory but allows some essential and relevant TCM in as well. You see there is general confusion about the terms TCM and 5 elements. TCM stands for Traditional Chinese Medicine but actually this would be better called Modern Chinese Medicine in the majority of cases because these theories and techniques were developed from traditional sources in the 1960's. Five element acupuncture, or what people actually mean when they say five element acupuncture in the UK might better be called Worsleypuncture because it relates to a particular style developed by J.R.Worsley in the UK in the 1960's.

We will attempt to clarify this on the course, this is an integrated course but it does not claim to teach TCM in depth, why not? Because some is relevant but most of it is actually irrelevant to acupuncture, TCM is much more relevant to Herbal Medicine. Acupuncture is a meridian and qi (energy) based therapy using points. Herbal Medicine tends to focus more on organ functions, signs and symptoms.
